We invest in research and commercialisation of new sustainable forms of energy that use coal and in renewable fuels, such as biomass and biodiesel, that help New Zealand in the transition to clean, affordable and renewable energy forms. We are committed to achieving a positive net effect on the New Zealand environment across all our businesses.
World Expo 2010 Shanghai - Essay Competition
Solid Energy is a foundation partner for the New Zealand Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China between May and October this year. Our involvement in Expo underlines the long standing trading relationship we have with our international customers in China. We will be participating in events at Expo with our customers but we also wanted to acknowledge the contribution of our communities to our business.
As a result we are running an essay competition open to all students in Years 11, 12 and 13 who currently attend a high school on the West Coast of the South Island, Waikato, Southland and Canterbury*. The essay competition recognises the contribution of our communities to Solid Energy's business, in particular our success as an exporter to China for almost 20 years.
