Wellington lawyer Helen Cull, QC, has been appointed to the board of coal producer and distributor, Solid Energy New Zealand Ltd, by the Minister for State Owned Enterprises.
Ms Cull has extensive experience in a range of litigation and public law, has provided advice in a number of areas of legal practice and has served as a company director and board member of several statutory bodies.
Appointed Queen's Counsel in 1997, she is currently a Senior Advisory District Inspector of Mental Health, member of the New Zealand Law Society Ethics Committee and an independent board member of the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association.
Solid Energy Chairman,Tim Saunders said: "We welcome Ms Cull to the board of Solid Energy. She brings with her extensive expertise across a broad range of board and public law experience and we look forward to working with her as the company develops to meet New Zealand's growing energy demands.

Christine made a significant contribution to the company. We wish her well in her role as a member of the Electricity Commission."
