New Director for Solid Energy New Zealand
Greymouth businessman, Tony Williams, has been appointed a director of Solid Energy New Zealand Ltd by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Mark Burton.
Mr Williams is Managing Director of Greymouth-based Williams Mining Ltd. A fifth generation West Coaster, born in Reefton, Mr Williams is a Road Transport Association Region 4 delegate and a member of Tourism West Coast.
In welcoming Mr Williams to the board, Solid Energy Chairman, Tim Saunders said: "Tony Williams' proven business skills and long involvement on the West Coast will be a great asset to Solid Energy as we look to the expansion of our operations throughout the country, but particularly in the Greymouth, Reefton and Buller areas. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with Tony.
"I would also like to record my personal thanks to Alistair Ward who is retiring from the board after three years. Alistair played a major role in helping the Board steer the company through difficulties during the late 1990s to its current strong position. We wish him well."
